About The Event
The war in Ukraine, the war with Iran, the repercussions on petroleum markets, and sanctions and restrictions imposed on Russia and China appear to have brought the two countries closer together. Removing controls on its oil exports has brought Russia a sizeable jump in revenues and increased oil flows to China. In return, China has increased trade and technology flows to Russia.
Our April dinner speaker, Christopher Walker, Vice President, Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA), will address the deepening relationship of the two countries. Prior to joining CEPA, he was Vice President for Studies and Analysis at the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), where he was responsible for NED’s efforts to explore themes relating to democratic development, including in the modern information and emerging technology spheres, as well as foreign authoritarian influence.
